As the new dearness allowance was recently announced for the employees, the dearness allowance of other employees increased accordingly. Apart from this news, the employees are also going to hear good news regarding one more important thing. Let us tell you that central government has offered two more allowances to employees recently. Let us discuss this in detail.
(7th pay commission) In lieu of dearness allowance, two more allowances have been offered by the central government for its employees. This was done recently. The central government, on Diwali, increased the dearness allowance from the central government employee’s salary. But employees still get a lot of allowances besides dearness. This is a good update for all employees (government employees Update). Recently, two of such allowances have been increased just keeping in view the benefit of the employees. The path to getting them is also very easy.
Increase in These Allowances-
There is always an emerging report of relief for government employees. While earlier the government had granted an extraordinary hike in dearness allowance (dress allowance) to its employees, two other allowances have now been granted an increase. The Health and Family Welfare Ministry announced a 25 per cent increase in dress allowance and nursing allowance for employees. This announcement was made by the ministry after the increase in DA. In fact, under this government decision, it has been adopted in a holistic view of the upgradation of other allowances that are given to employees.
These will cover all employees for both allowances:
According to the notification of the government, the government has amended the existing dress allowance and nursing allowance schemes. The provision applies to all hospitals run by the Central Government and Union Territories. Besides these government hospitals, the allowances will also be applicable in AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, and JIPMER, Pondicherry. Employees working in these institutions will be availing of these allowances.
Now, the DA has increased to 53 percent
In October, the Central Government had increased the dearness allowance from more than 50 percent (DA hike) in the basic salary of the employees. It is now at 53 percent. Due to this very rapid inflation rate and other expensive essentials in the country, the government has made this decision. It will help the employees to some extent in dealing with living expenses. For one’s information, DA and DR have also been increased in January 2024 (DA/DR hike). Under that, 4 percent of the DA and DR amount claimed by the employees were increased. Moreover, the other 13 important allowances for employees received a 25 percent increase.
